On 14060m, are lugs uneven in thickness?

Quick question, I had the 14060m I received on Monday replaced with a different one due to an issue.

When I looked at the replacement I received today, the top left lug and bottom right lug look thicker than the others.

Why would this be? Case is supposed to be unpolished.

Top lugs:

Bottom lugs:

The "crown side lugs" on these older mid casings are generally thinner at the root where the crown tube exits (than the side opposite)...

They are spossed to be tapered to even at their tips as you have so noticed...

Too close to call on the lower snap, but the one above is questionable...

If it were me, I'd keep it, you really can't notice...

Not happy withit, send it back for another...

Thanks,
Randy

In the second pic (bottom lugs) it looks like the crown side lugs are thicker, but based on what you're saying it should actually be thinner?

Lugs look ok to me. That close up you're going to notice some unevenness on an older Rolex case. And yes the crown side lugs are generally a little thinner on watches with crown guards, to balance the overall look of the watch.

Is it a brand new watch. If not know telling who got there hands on it with a grinder. Curious as to what happened that your dealer gave you a replacement.

Your top picture is an optical illusion. The left side has light shining the bevel making it appear thinner than it is.

As to the lugs in general, the crown side of the case is shaped differently than the other side of the case and always has been

That's a great photo Larry. I've enjoyed for a few years now.

Really spells out the difference in the lugs.

Crown side lugs on my 14060 are slightly thinner than non-crown side. Normal.

I really prefer the look of the older case, the new ones are way too bulky for my liking.

Your watch looks pretty good in comparison to others that have gone through my hands.

I personally wouldn't worry too much about your example.

It's all in the lighting I think.. depending on what angle I view my watch.. one side or the other appears to be bigger.
