116622 luminescence question
Hi,
I just recently bought a bue face 116622 YM on this forum, and while I'm very happy with it, something is bothering me. Rolex Canada told me the 116622 was never made with green superlume, only blue. Brochure says it's supposed to be blue. Mine is more green than blue. Anybody here knows if they did some in green? My serial number match the warranty card and docs, it all seems legit otherwise. Thank you. |

The chromalight can tend to have a greenish hue at times. I wouldn't worry.

Thank you for your replies.
The thing is, officially it's supposed to be blue. My eyes see the lume as bright green. Under certain light conditions the lume will appear blue when photographed, but it is truly green, not blue. Not sure if I am crazy... I'm just hoping everything is legit with my new 116622. |

Thank you guys, this is such a relief. I don't see any blue in that lume except on pictures but well... they can call it whatever they want but it is still green.

It's tricky...the best way is if you have it side by side with a older "Green" lume watch.
then you can usually see the difference very easily. From your pics..... |

There is another thread currently about the lume on GMT IIc that offer some interesting perspectives too.
OP, your first pic looks more green than blue to my eyes, and your other pics look blue. Larry's pic is green to my eyes (no debate). Maybe we chalk this one too up to the mystique of Rolex ... and enjoy the watch!

Yea, I thought the same when I got my 116610LN Sub C - I compared to other older green superluminova watches and you can see the difference when compared right next to each other, the chromalight is definitely more blue & the green looks really green. The chromalight can appear a almost minty blue/green sometimes but your watch is fine, exactly how mine looks.
Great looking watch, enjoy! |
