Buying a used Cartier watch?

Hello everyone I just found an used Cartier Tank franciase in the large size in two tone. But the only problem is it's 8 years old. I'm thinking about passing. They want 3,500.00 for the watch. Thank you

Have you compared the price to elsewhere?
Has it been serviced during those 8 years?

If you haven't already done so, go spend some time looking on chrono24 to see how the price and age stacks up against other sellers offering the same thing.

No I haven't looked anywhere else. The listing doesn't mention if the watch was services or not. I just states that it has been polished. Thanks I'll check out that website

The seller stated that they don't have the service record of this watch. I looked at chrono24 and a lot of the at least of the Cartier watches don't have the year that the watch was made.

You'll need to ask the sellers, if you want to compare exactly. Otherwise just compare on price and condition the photos indicate.
It's the only way you'll figure out if the one you're looking at is overpriced or a bit of a bargain.

I wouldn't drop $3500 on something I had no objective data on.

You can find brand new Tanks Française for about a thousand more without much problem.

I'm not saying the watch isn't worth that price, but apparently even the owner doesn't really know that it's worth that either.

Thanks for the tip. My mistake but I mist quoted the price. The correct price is 3,200.00. But That's not a big difference in price.
