Tudor 7016/0 Dial question, (Pic)
I an wondering about this Tudor,
The serial dates to 1968, Aside from the odd hands, I am wondering about the dial, Its the chapter ring which confuses me. Is it an older poorly restored dial? As I am very new to the Submariner, Thank you, Peter B |

It looks to me that the dial was touched up by hand at some point.
"Tudor" and "Oyster Prince" all look a bit 'shaky' to be original pad print. Re-lumed I think too based on the way the 3 marker looks. Still a cool watch! Enjoy it! |

Yes, I believe the dial to be relumed as well, The dial I can't tell, When I magnify the print looks pretty good and old,
Whats I find that is odd is I can find chapter ring dials on the older Tudor Subs, They are all 4 lines with the bottom line curved, This one has 4 straight lines, Odd. |

I don't think the 7016 ever had a closed chapter ring. They were phased out during the 7928 period, its predecessor. There also seems to be a hyphen missing between oyster and prince, and an equals sign missing between the depth numbers. Looks totally redone to me. Lolipop hand is, I believe, 1980s and started with the 76100 and minisub.
