RGSD or RGD and why?

guys: I will be getting a watch in a couple of weeks god willing.
I've been ready (or so I thought) to pull the trigger on a full RG daytona until today..... I tried on the Full RG Sky Dweller and its like my vows of fidelity went out the window. i like the design of the Daytona but the size of the SkyDweller is just very convincing. he issue is that my wrist is 7.5 in and the Daytona sort of looks small on my wrist.
whats your choice and why?

Both watches are completely different. My wrist is 7 3/4 and I would wear either one in a heartbeat.

The tipping point should be what functions you actually need? A Chrono or GMT with annual indicator? May be worth considering a DD 40 as well for a broader spectrum.

If size is a concern then hold off a bit and think it over further. I find the Daytona wears better on medium to small wrists. I personally love it on my 6.45 wrist.



I have been very close to buying various skydwellers.....



but never did due to a little nag I have with the dial layout and missing day indicator.

Thomasapp: I feel exactly the same way about the size of the Daytona. the other issue is that I always wear my DSSD and putting on a Daytona makes things even worst for it looks dwarfed on my wrist. I think that after wearing it for a few days I'll get used to the size of the Daytona.

The rose gold daytona wears a lot bigger then the yellow gold or SS model. It's about 1mm larger at the lugs and that means a lot. I think the case is also a tad thicker.

Many people I know wear the daytona and I feel it's perfect no matter what wrist size. It's your brain that needs to accept it.
When I was younger I was all about larger watches, as time went by I started feeling as though my next watch will be 36mm

I prefer the daytona by far, but I have 6.5" wrists. What do I know ?

Not really Fabio. Generally I wear the 40mm range (BLRO, SubC etc.) however I do not really notice the size difference people refer too. I do notice that it is very comfortable and sits flat on the wrist.

Having switched from large APs, PAMs and the various DSSDs I still have a lot of love for the Daytona. Personally I think the pushers add some width that makes is seem quite balanced and ascetically pleasing.

Having tried on the Sky Dweller on a few occasions (I am fond of the watch) I did not feel that is was overly large in comparison. Without the pushers on the case visually it felt not very far off the sport models. To me the drastic difference would be with the YM II and the DSSD for obvious reasons.

Having a larger wrist to go with big hands and long arms, (6'4" with a 38" sleeve), I personally would much prefer seeing the SkyD on my wrist. I just would feel like the watch is a little obscured on me. That said, it is an entirely personal matter. there's a gentleman on here who has an 8.5" wrist and is very happy to see his 36mm day date on the wrist. I've seen bigger guys with 36mm watches myself and it certainly doesn't look worse, just a different flavor if you will.
