My urban survival essentials

Disaster can strike at any time, so if you are unable to move out of the city, you need to know how to survive in the city. ;)

The wedge (blade) is pretty much the oldest human made tool. There's about 2 million years of evolutionary history behind the use of knives. It isn't hard to find a need for one on a daily basis.

I carry a Sebenza - made in the US with a S35VN blade and titanium handle. Pretty much an indestructible piece of metal that's seen 5 years of almost daily use - from performing minor surgeries to opening the mail. I can't imagine not carrying a knife.

Wow, Who would have thought pocket knives were offensive. I think I just heard Dwight D. Eisenhower rolling over in his grave.

They might not be offensive to you and me but to some people / cultures they might be, this is an international forum and we do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable.

The rules on this forum are plain and simple and clearly posted and have been well thought out over the many years. So obey those rules if you do not like those rules then simply do not participate in this now quite remarkable forum.

6.CONTROVERSIAL TOPICS OR POSTS such as those relating to politics, race, culture, religion, sexual orientation, objectification or discrimination, violence (toward persons or animals) will be subject to the final and absolute discretion of the Moderators to be immediately locked and/or removed without notice to any member. No gun, knife, weapon threads or pictures of such since we are a worldwide forum and many members are not comfortable with this type of material. Infraction points and a possible lifelong ban will inevitably accompany such pictures, posts, or threads.

Yes many cultures find what amounts to common kitchen utensil offensive.

Not a no-no to carry. That's personal business. It's against forum rules.

Get 'em Padi.
Have to agree that the rules of this forum are impressive and have served to sustain the peace in this international town that we have formed.
