New Home Stereo System Help!! Please!!
Hello Everyone,
I'm thinking about buying a new stereo system. I'm thinking about a Bose Wave System, Onkyo system or a Yahama. I would like to be able to plug in headphones to the front of the system and to be able to adjust the bass and the tremble. Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

How much are you looking to spend and what are you doing for speakers? Is it for music of home theater?

I owned the classic Yamaha receiver with Klipsh speakers that BestBuy pawns off as good. I purchase the year I got out of the navy. I was never happy/impressed and I think you can do better. Eventually I changed to an Onkyo receiver but have given much of that up as I bought bigger homes, had a family and my wife tells me "turn that down..." So now I have a Bose Soundbar ($1,500) and a Samsung sound bar ($600). They are both good in their own ways. Both have Bluetooth for headphones and multiple inputs. I still use a Pioneer receiver to power my Bose outdoor pool speaker and I'm happy with it too.

Yes I'm looking for a modern system that you can plus your iPhone and ipod into. And play a on CD. Not too big in size either. I guess I'm looking for a receiver that comes with two speakers and may that I can add a subwoofer later on. Does that help narrow things down? Thank you

Sounds like a Bose system will work.
I have a relative with a classic Mark Levinson system and an older Bose wave. He is happy with both. Plugs the phone running Pandora into the wave and spins classic jazz vinyl on the ML. I suggest the Bose. |

Keep in mind best buy price matches anything directly sold by amazon or walmart. If you can find it in store you could get it today same price.

If it were me, I would look into a Sonos Play 5 amplified speaker. It connects to your internet connection giving you access to streaming music from the Internet, plus it will connect to you Apple iPod or iPhone if you buy the interface.
It is the best and most versatile music system I have ever found!

I like the Sonos system of wireless play. You download your content onto the system and it plays via wifi to the speakers or headphones presumably.

I would also champion the sonos system, I have a play 5, play 3 and 2 play 1's set up as a stereo pair. Customer service is superb (As I have found with all the American companies I have needed to contact).

Id recommend against getting an all in one system.
For that price just by a pair of Audioengine A5+B Powered Book Shelf Speakers and an OPPO disk player if you want to use CD's http://www.amazon.com/Audioengine-Po.../dp/B005OA3BSY http://www.amazon.com/OPPO-BDP-83-Bl...ywords=OPPO+cd |

Bowers & Wilkins speakers, Integra or Denon components high end but without the high high prices of the esoteric brands
