Rolex Hulk

Why does it get so much love on this forum? Its just a normal ceramic sub in green right, is it because its the first all green rolex. If this watch was to be made along side the black for the rest of time, would it still be as desirable. Or is it because its in limited supply that it gets its attention.

Im still looking to buy my first sub, and right now the 14060 is topping my list, although I am considering the hulk, but in the long term I'm not sure which one I would enjoy more, having to pick between them is not easy (The pre ceramic sea dweller is also high on my list, although of course it isn't a sub, it is in a very similar niche)

Also, sorry for all the questions I've been asking on here recently, I'm fairly new to rolex and thought asking this community would be the best way to learn about them.

although I've never owned one I've always admired them from afar. I think for me personally I couldn't one as a daily wearer as it would be too much green, however it would be great as a party piece or for evening wear in my opinion.

The dial is beautiful, and I think that's why there a big following. It has the ability to change to different hues and shades of green.

The Hulk is colorful. A lot of people like that flash of color, and it has great wrist presence. A bit to much color for me, but you should strap it on at the AD and see how it feels to you.

The 16600 is a great watch, as is the 14060. I tried on a 114060 before I bought my 16600 and it was very attractive.

I love the Hulk because it looks like this...and I find black-dialed watches a bit boring by comparison:)

It is a beautiful and not overly common watch. And as another has said, it adds color to a collection

Yup, that green dial is just gorgeous and frankly, I'm not the type that worries whether my socks match the watch or not so it goes with everything.

Rolex excel at sunburst dials, and so the green and blue and chocolate dials are beloved.

I think one of the reasons why it's so popular among the whole line up is because no other watch manufacture produces a green timepiece better than Rolex's hulk in that category and price range. That green is eye catchy, funky, and yet classy in its own unique way. We seldom see green on other watch brands as compared to white dials, blue dials, and black dials etc.

I'm in the camp that likes to admire it from afar. I think it looks amazing but I don't want to own one. I like my own watches to fall in the grayscale.

All the goodness of a Submariner with the twist of a chameleon dial and unique bezel....For me, it was, and still is after all these years, an irresistible combo that makes me smile. Not any more complicated than that! Your mileage may vary, which is fine. There are many different watches for many different tastes.

I never understood it much either, until I actually tried it on a few months ago. Been smitten since. Not a huge fan of the modern sub but I really dig the Hulk. In fact I picked one up today! It has certain exuberance and energy which jives nicely with the classic Submariner design tropes. The sunburst dial is subtle yet effective and the green looks wonderful against the brushed steel of the case and bracelet. As an only watch I probably wouldn't recommend it but in a moderate to large collection it sure works.

Not as green as you think from a distance. Up close, the color and sunburst is spectacular. Want to see another color, just deflect your wrist a little and the dial goes black. It is just a superb dial.

And, you can have only so many black watches.

I wouldn't say it's in limited supply. It is a great watch, though.

Because only the cool kids can wear it. Glad I have it:). Honestly, it's sim[ply beautiful and its not as loud or green as you think it is. It certainly looks that way in photos, but a lot of the time, the dial looks black.

It really is a gorgeous watch. I'm not big in to stainless steel, prefer the heavier precious metals. But every once in a while I put on my Hulk and it reminds me how gorgeous this piece is.

They're just beautiful, materialistically and metaphysically. The best SS sub.

I have to say, if you only have one sub, the LN vs LVC is a total toss up. To me the green is a little special. When I bought my Hulk I already owned a black 16610 for many years, so my decision was easy.

the ceramic all black is also a stunning watch. Like I said the LVC is just a little more unique and special to me.
