Value/Model of My Grandpa's Watches
Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum and can't wait to own my first Rolex! Currently, I have a Longines Legend Diver Heritage which I enjoy. I have two Rolex pieces from my grandpa and I am wondering if someone can help me determine their model and what their approximate value is. I believe they would be pre-1980 and older. The gold Rolex's head is twisted a little and off-centre from the bracelet but that's nothing that can't be fixed easily. The other one (silver) is a Rolex that I broke when I was a kid... My grandpa should've never let me play around with it. :P Any help is much appreciated! |

Hopefully you didn't snap the clasp as the that bracelet is fairly sought after. Couple of beautiful family heirlooms. Would love some better pics of the oyster perpetual (SS model)

I believe that a Rolex dealer nearby said that they could replace it. I can take more pictures of the watch for you. I believe it is the Speed King. Here are some details I have: gold watch: serial 1466xxx, calibre 1600, model 3601. oyster speed king: serial 717xx, calibre 1210, model 6420. any idea what the value of these watches are? |

You seem to already have a very good idea of what you have -- perhaps you should read the forum rules... You're not going to get an appraisal if that's what you're fishing for.
Don't mean to sound rude, just sayin'. |

nice heirlooms. Don't loose the bracelet as its a Big Logo and worth many times a regular small logo bracelet. Watches can be seen for sale in many venues for values.
Interested how the gold one is turned as its the whole case moved at angle. |

I was thinking the same thing, for a moment I thought the movement might be cradled in the caseback and the caseback is twisted, but I'd imagine the winding stem wouldn't allow the case to shut since it's not in the normal slot. Perhaps it's meant to be that way.

Thanks for all the replies. The case on the gold one has been centered again. Have no idea how it shifted to such an angle but it's 'normal' again with the case positioning.

Beautiful watches - i love the gold dress watch, pre-Cellini - I'll never understand why, but they do not command the prices of the sports models...
