My Small Collection
I finally got around to taking some pictures - sorry about the quality, its my first time...
A little backstory: All of my watches have been amazing graduation gifts from my parents (the first one I buy myself will either be a Patek or white dial Milgauss, depending on when my name comes up on the Milgauss list ). Of my watches, the Tag F1 was my first 'real' watch, received for high school graduation, and it's been my daily for the last seven or eight years. The Steve McQueen was my college graduation, and the GMT was law school graduation. I'll try to take some better / more creative pics next time... Thanks for looking! |

Could I be adopted in to your family. Both of my parents are deceased and I paid for my own education with the GI Bill for being a Viet Nam Era Veteran, student loans, working a full-time job, part-time job, and going to school full-time for six years. Graduate school was done many years later and all paid for.
I wouldn't cost much; just a Rolex or two or three. Lovely collection, nice future purchase (Patek), congratulations on finishing Law School. Are you getting another Rolex when you pass the bar exam? I dated a lawyer for many years and her father and brother were also attorneys. I went with her through her years at Iowa State and Drake Law School. She always said the first year they scare you to death, the second year they work you to death, and the third year they bore you to death. Was it that way for you as well? Welcome to the forum. Please discuss my adoption proceedings with your parents. Terry Newton

Thanks for all of the warm comments! I haven't really inherited my passion for watches, but I have a few cousins that collect watches, mostly limited editions from various makers. I think my parents just knew I loved watches and kept up the tradition after high school.
Terry, I'll talk to my parents about the adoption. I'm an only child, so maybe they'll welcome you :) . I wouldn't expect a Rolex, though. I was actually shocked that they bought this one (I didn't ask for a watch, but my dad knew I loved the milgauss, and when he couldn't find one he decided on the GMT). I still feel a little bit guilty about the cost.... Oh, and yes that's a completely accurate saying about law school! |
