Tudor Prince 38mm California Dial

Hi TRF Members,

I could really use some help and guidance. I am looking at purchasing a vintage Tudor Prince 38mm. I really would like one with a California dial. I have run across the following watch and was wondering what you valued the watch at based on these pictures. One concern is with the lug holes being stretched out.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!!

Do you have a model number and serial number? Tudor was putting California dials on watches until at least 2006. This one I would guess to be 1980s or 1990s.

Thanks so much for the reply!

Looks like the case states 9080 or 90800 (model?) and 926xxx (serial number?).

Does this look like an authentic dial?

Thanks again!

Serial dates the watch to around 1980. Dial is probably refinished. I'll move this to the vintage section, you'll get a better response over there.

Refinished dial... I'd look for another specimen.

Totally fake dial...

value is the watch minus the dial and hands.

Avoid this one!

These dials are attractive but I have never seen one that is authentic. When they go by on ebay I kind of roll my eyes. I think that they are swapped in to bait buyers. Sounds overly critical. I hope nobody finds this too harsh.

I think it looks great and at the right price and knowing that it's got a redial, why not?
