Rolex math

Does this compute? (based on gray market prices)

116506 = 116618LN + 116719BLRO

Would you rather get the Platona over two gold models? Never mind what else is in the collection, does this make sense?

Tough one, but I would go 2 gold, tho the LB Sub not LN... and I'd also add a certain gold Nautilus as well...

I think this is more about timing and sequence because at the end, you will own all three Mike

The Rolex math definitely doesn't add up. I would go with the two gold pieces because to me it also doesn't add up that Rolex chose a chestnut brown bezel to put on a platinum Daytona!

I was going with the Platona option until you threw the LB curve. I LOVE that piece. The two would give you a nice balance. But given your collection, and I know you said it dosen't matter but it does!, and given the more is not always better concept...Platona it is. It's a VERY special watch and you won't see that many in the wild. In other words perfect for for a guy who has the stable you do. Go for it and celebrate in style

Well, frankly there isn't much about this hobby that makes sense, but if you want the Platona, then you should do it!

Smurf 116619 and Pepsi 116719 would be my choice over the Platona if I was ready to spend +/- $50K on Rolex watches.

I've only seen photos of the Playtona, not a fan of the dial and bezel colors. A gold SkyDweller or Daytona, those are real beauties.

I would rather go with the Platona. I would go crazy trying to decide which one to wear. Even worse, I might even end up wearing one on each hand!

It doesn't make sense to me... Then again, what we do doesn't really make sense to anyone outside the TRF.

Simple--you can only wear one at a time and the Platona looks twice as good as either of the others

I'd take the PM Sub and GMT, but I'm not a big Daytona guy to begin with so the fact it would be platinum doesn't quite sell it for me. You already have the watch I'd probably get if I were to go platinum.

2 Gold. But 116618LB Sunburst Bluesy. My wrist is 7.5 inches+

Platona is nice but I feel the Daytona wears small and I would not be happy with it.

I have owned multiple Subs and a GmtII so there you go!
