26400au FC for Smurf ???

Completely out of left field, I was offered a swap yesterday where I would give up my 6 month old 26400FC Novelty (which I do like) for a BNIB 116619 Smurf. After initially politely declining the offer....I find myself actually contemplating the deal. This would leave me with my Diver as my only AP.

And although I am leaning towards not making the trade I'm always curious what other's thoughts on the subject are .....fire away !

I personally do not have much of an interest in the Smurf... The AP FC 44 is more appealing to me...

AP 44FC is one of my favorites...

Love Rolex...I have always liked the smurf - I would rather pick up a pre-owned at a little better price.

Totally different watches...value wise, I think the BNIB Smurf might be slightly ahead of the used FC...

Ultimately it comes down to what you want a watch for. I would use and wear a FC very differently than how I would with a Smurf...and the visuals are totally different between the two. Personally, I've been on a bit of a precious metal itch lately, so I may slightly edge toward the Smurf. It was any other AP 44, it would be an easy no for me though.

The smurf is nice, but hey it's definitely a step back. It's rather "plain" a glorified Sub if we want to be really harsh.

I've tried one on, and I do find myself occasionally checking their prices online. But compared to an AP, pretty much any modern AP it's a huge step back in Horology.

Totaly different watches. If the Smurf is really BNIB, i would do it. But hey, I'm not a fan of AP watches and I love my Smurf

Ill never understand why ppl that don't like a certain brand will hang out on said brands sub-forum.

But I agree with Serg, cool pic.

How else are they going to get to tell you they don't like the choice you spent tens of thousands of your hard-earned dollars to make for yourself?

Yep never understood, sometimes I hang out on a sub forum to know more about a brand, like I did for PP and AP, but if I don't like and have no interest in a brand sure won't hang out on the forum...

To the OP you get that one weighs a ton and the other no? I can't handle the weight but if you can the Rolex is kinda cool, but horologically speaking yes you are way back, you could do it if your FC case is wearing off on the sharp edges, but if it's holding fine then no, again if you can handle the weight...

FC is a much more interesting piece in my opinion.

I think you will get tired of the Smurf quicker than you think you would!
