Got a rolex that isn't working...

Hi,

So I've been given this old (I think it's old, relatively) rolex for which I know nothing about. Just wondering if you all can give me some advice. I'm a complete and utter rolex newb.

So it's a Oyster Perpetual DateJust ladies watch. That's all I know as that's what it says on the face (well, not the "ladies" part, but it seems feminine to me). See some pics below. Any info you can tell me about it like it's age etc would be great.

It's not working and I can't get it going. Being "perpetual", it should be self winding...but it's not getting going as I wore it for a few hours to try to get it going, to no avail. Then I read that winding in manually about 40 times should get it going, so I tried that too, but nothing.

Also, the rolex logo on the dial has come off from the 12 o clock position and is now stuck to the glass in the 7.30 position.

Re its authenticity, I'm leaning towards it being real as I also got another "rolex" that I'm 100% certain is a fake. It looks and feels much better than the fake so I'm assuming it's authentic...although I guess it could easily be a better fake. Should I get it officially authenticated? I understand you all can't authenticate it, but please let me know if it's an obvious fake...save me the time and effort :)

So, what do you think I should do with it. Is it worth getting it back up and running with a service...both monetarily and out of respect for the piece (assuming it's authentic)?

And advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

Oh so that's what the Date in DateJust is in reference too. I thought it was just a name. Oh well there you go...that's pretty funny

It's a Falkenstein, but you could always have it authenticated at a RSC
