Accuracy of the new 3255 Movement (Day-Date 40)

I know this is not a long term test but after setting to exact time using time.is 72 hours ago, my new Date-Date is +1 second total. I find that the expected results are surpassed. I will report later towards 10 days.

^ The 32XX movements haven't increased in diameter, so you can expect one in the next version of the 36 mm Day-Date.

Thank you for that confirmation!

If Rolex were to have a 36 mm Day Date with a 3255 movement right now, I would buy it. I am waiting impatiently for any such announcement.

I have a question regarding announcements. Are all new watches announced at Baselworld? Is it possible or likely that Rolex could announce a 36 mm Day Date with the 3255 movement before the next Baselworld?

Usually Basel. But James Cameron DSSD was not.

My Day-Date II had to be regulated after purchasing it a year ago. Since then it is +2 per day.

after 2 weeks of testing my dd40 im +3. Im amazed how accurate it has been so far.

However i have noticed that i can hear the rotor if i shake the watch. Ive never been able to hear the rotor on any of my other models and its making me want to take it in to be serviced. Does anyone know if this is common since they started using ball bearings instead of the jeweled sleeve?

I think that's going to be normal with the ball bearing rotor. The jewelled sleeve is great for silent operation but in the long term the ball bearing should be less troublesome

Thank you for your response, after some research I found that the Daytona has the same noise from the rotor due to the ball bearings. I also went to the ad and shook one of their models and heard the same thing. Any other dd40 owners noticing the rotor noise?

I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets up to Nautilus/Aquanaut levels
