Icon5 Should i wear it?

I posted my first Rolex just a few days ago and has been great wearing it however... im only young and not very cautious im a little worried i could do some damage to the watch (it is insured) which could devalue it, now i don't plan on selling but i cant really afford to ruin it and want to keep it in its best condition. The watch is 2nd hand but have a feeling the previous and only owner didn't wear it much, very little band stretch and no obvious scratches or marks. was it kept in a box for the most of its life and was that for a wise reason that im unaware of? should i put it away untill i decide to upgrade or buy a 2nd (as much as i like wearing the watch i like looking at it in its box just as much). or am i just being stupid and worrying over nothing?

Also i have been getting interviews with different local watch shops recently (including my local AD) so hopefully will be working with my dream watches everyday soon!

I'd save up to have it serviced, then wear the hell out of it.

Weak it with the thought that any scratches can be removed at service time. Seems like a shame for such a beautiful watch to spend its life locked up in a box.

Wouldn't ever call you stupid over worrying about your first Rolex, it's a natural first reaction. My advice is to wear your DJ proudly! Life is too short to worry about everyday wear and tear

I remember how precious I was over my first really nice watch so I understand but as the guys say the watch and Rolex esp are made for wearing so at least wear it once everyday when you feel most relaxed and pretty soon you won't even remember you have it on.

wear or not

My uncle purchased a Twotone datejust in 1966 first thing he did when immigrating to Canada. He wear everyday when he passed away at 77 last years old it still looked great. He was a construction worker all his life so I wear his watch in the evening or before he started his shift... (we miss you uncle Frank)The moral of this is you work hard all your life to afford life's luxuries enjoy them while your here... wear it in good health...

I also say wear it. I would just add, Be a little more careful if you are careless as you indicated. Nothing wrong with taking care of something you earned.
