I agree with you about the ½ dress, ½ sport's model statement. However, imho the WG (or YG) fluted and rotatable bezel is not that practical since if you use the bezel often, the fine facets of the fluted WG / YG bezel will soon be rounded off.

Yes, you have a choice of Oyster or Jubillee bracelet with the SS/Black dial model.

Rolex Datejust Dial

Hello, fellow Rolex afficionados!

I recently bought a pre-owned Datejust in SS/YG, mid-sized, with YG fluted bezel and silver dial with YG baton markers. I got it without box and papers from a friend of a friend but was authencated as genuine by RSC in Manila where I'm based.

However, the RSC told me that the watch's model is for a Turn-O-Graph (year 1998) hence it should have a Thunderbird bezel instead of a fluted one. The previous owner must have replaced it for one reason or another.

I don't mind having a fluted bezel but wanted to change the dial to white with YG roman numerals. RSC said that they will sell me the dial I want for $265, but only if I will restore the watch with a Thunderbird bezel which is quite expensive for me (around $1,000).

So I tried looking for the white dial at watch stores that sell pre-owned Rolex but they don't sell their dials because these are only intended for customers who want to replace the dial of the watch they are buying from the store.

I checked the internet and found a couple of sites that sell genuine (as claimed) Rolex dials but they require the buyer to trade his existing dial on top of the selling price.

Are there any shops selling genuine Rolex dials that you can recommend? I prefer that they are based in Manila, Hong Kong, North America, or United Kingdom and don't require "trade plus cash" deal.

Thank you so much.

I had the TOG for 3 years, and the bezel did show some scratches, as would any watch bezel, but never became "rounded off".

IMO, the TOG is a great combination of a sporty and dress watch. I have my eyes on one right now.
