Help me choose between SubC or SubC Date
I'm struggling to decide on which SubC to get (Date, or No Date). I'm fortunate to own three Rolexes currently (BLNR, Z-Blue, Explorer 39mm), and would love to add this iconic watch to the mix. I absolutely love the Sub, and would be pleased to own either. The ND appeals to me for its sheer simplicity. But nothing screams Rolex like a cyclops. But there are times when I don't like the cyclops due to its odd appearance, tendency to crowd the dial, and ostentatious appearance. But having the date to reference sure comes in handy when you need it. Moreover, I'm thinking it may be wise for me to add another date to my collection, since of the three, I only have one with date (BLNR). I've read nearly all of the forums on this topic, so I'm familiar with all of the obvious thoughts on the vs. dilemma. But given my current collection, which one would you add to the mix?

Help me choose between SubC or SubC Date
I'd add a Sub date to that collection or better yet, an LV unless green isn't your thing.

Maybe a LV later on down the line, but for now it'll have to be a LN or 114060.

What about ...
SDc 116600? Gives you the date sans cyclops, and still within the Sub family.

Since you only have one watch with date and find the date useful then go with subc date.

For SS Sub, I'd go withe the ND unless you were leaning towards an LV. Your GMTIIC has the date. I recently purchased a ND and couldn't be happier. It does suck sometimes not having a date, but to be honest, even with a cyclops I still have trouble reading the date!

I thought about the 116600 and loved the way it wears, but not the price! That one will be aspirational. So it'll have to be one of the SubCs for now.

Based on a quick check of Trusted Sellers, it looks like the actual delta between Sub Date and SDc isn't as great as their respective retail prices would suggest. Just saying.

I'm a date guy. I Check the date too often. It was the downfall of my Daytona and had to part with it. I don't think I can own a watch without a date... But that's just me!

You can't go wrong with either, but the SubC is great.

If you wear it for sport (diving in specific) then no date. For more versatile Het the date.

Retail delta is a $1000. Whereas a discounted new can be anywhere between $500 to $750. Although price is always a consideration, it's the aesthetics (first) and functionality (second) that matter to me. I just don't want to buy the no date, and then get the itch for the date. Once Rolex fever hits, it's hard to shake, so I want to make sure I make the right choice. I really love the no date, but date may be the better investment (if you want to call it that).

What would the spread be between the two for new discounted (no stinkin ADs, I made that mistake once)? Or like-new, mint?

You have date watches and non date now, if the lack of date is not an issue for you go the no date it is a cleaner dial and will be cheaper, if you use the date often go with that. I have with date but I could live without, as I do on my Daytona.
