BLNR Dilemma
Hi everyone
I absolutely love my BLNR however as my weight fluctuates I find it is often too tight or too loose. I've been back to the AD a few times for adjustments. When I had a SubC in the past I loved the glidelock and actually miss it now. I am having crazy thoughts of flipping my new BLNR for a SubC ND. My head says do it then I look at my BLNR and realise how much I actually love it. This photo shows how great it looks. Makes me wish BLNR had glidelock. I'm also paranoid about the PCL and I know I could swap the bracelet etc but I like things original. Overall my head tells me to flip back to a sub but my heart tells me not to. HMMMM!!!!! |

Hmmm you seem to experience more wrist size fluctuations than I do... Try resizing and using your easy link when you swell (I'm sure you already do this). Good luck and you can't go wrong with either piece so no bad pick.

I would suggest getting the small screw driver and some Loctite and do it your self as needed. The BLNR is such a great watch!

If it doesn't fit, you must acquit.

Sounds like you need to add a Sub C and rotate. Don't flip, I think you'll regret it.

I started off with a Sub, got a BLNR soon after - The Sub gets the most wrist time for all of the above reasons. I probably wouldn't get rid of my BLNR though...

Buy a bracelet from a Sub....you'll have the glide lock and the brushed centre links, and can put it back to original whenever you like.

I'd flip for the sub and be happy.

I second buying a sub bracelet. It's just a bracelet. You've altered nothing. It solves all your problems perfectly- you love the BLNR so you get to keep it, you have glide lock, and your PCLs will stay pristine for when you want to swap into that bracelet for dressier use.

Don't fight the feeling to change to watch you like better just because everyone else likes it. If it's not for you get rid of it and get something you like better

Lack of a Glidelock is one reason I flipped my BLNR. I got Sea Dweller instead of a Sub.

No way I would do that. There are so many options for getting the size right, to include either getting the clasp itself or a sub bracelet w/glide lock.
Or...another less expensive option, try sourcing a half link from a subc bracelet. |

I'm guessing you probably know this, but if you flip open the easy link you'll see that side of the bracelet can be "fine tuned" inside the clasp. My Explorer II was just a tad too large so moving it one detent (there are a total of three) made it perfect. I could then use the easy link on hot days or when my wrist swells. Now, if your wrist really does fluctuate that much, then you will probably end up flipping back to a watch with guide lock.

Before this week, I would have thought you were nuts saying your weight fluctuated enough to make your watch loose. However, after two weeks of over-doing it on holiday, I have my last day of three weeks on the Atkins tomorrow and my watches are all too loose now. Absolutely bizarre.
If it's bugging you that much, flip the BLNR and go for a Sea-Dweller. Be different

Search for a subc bracelet, that seems the best solution for you.

I have both and find the BLNR gets the most wrist time. How about buying a glide lock clasp and swapping it out?

Thanks all. Still on the fence as I know I would miss the Blnr if it went.

Easy enough to get again if you miss it that much.

Interesting thread, as I often have the same problem. There's plenty of fine adjustment in the clasp, but it a hassle to use it. The easy lock is ok, but IMO 5mm is too much. I feel your pain

Thanks all still unsure...get that feeling in my stomach that flipping Blnr would be a mistake but the thought of doing it isn't going away.
I'll keep thinking it out lol |

Otherwise, you can buy one more good watch without flipping the BLNR. To buy an extra link of PCL or an extra BCL bracelet with Glidelock for the BLNR would be an alternative way (which is also a cheaper way). |
