scratch on glass

scratched glass very mild, asked at local Rolex dealer what are my options are
He dismissively replied 12 weeks and a service as well as new glass.

But I explained its just a small scratch.?

Thats what you need to do, or put up with it.? needless to say I walked out of that Martin Place Sydney Store.

Can any one help me what to do, I agree its a very small scratch and may even polish out.

I guess the crystal is made of plexi, so you can polish it with polywatch. Should be like new again after polish.

That does look like an acrylic crystal which would make the watch a hell of a lot more than five years old. If acrylic (plastic), polywatch, as recommended above, will do a great job removing scratches but you can also try using toothpaste which works too. For sapphire glass crystals, very very very shallow scratches can sometimes be removed with "diamond paste".

You might try this product, it is a bit expensive, about $32.00 qt bottle but it works wonders. Put a dab on a piece of towel or old T shirt and polish the surface of the plastic crystal.

Can't believe they will only replace with a service. I can polish this in 10 seconds. lol. I use my polisher and 2 different compounds. One cuts and one high polishes. Would look brand new. I would normally charge something like $10 wholesale to do a job like that. Retail easily $20. And you would have been on your way with a smile. If anything I would up-sell a refinish or at least a case/bracelet cleaning. I don't understand the service centers giving the customer only one option, which usually includes a complete service and replacing parts, when all you want is a simple cosmetic repair.
