1675 Dial Question
In doing some research, am I correct in stating this is a MK I Dial? Are there only three tells when comparing to a MK II as follows:
The watch is a 2,889,xxx and has III 70 stamped on the caseback. Thanks I am trying to learn the subtleties and differences of these dials...Oddly, the MK0 and MKII look very similar to each other. Scott

Hi SLS - what you have here is a MK1 dial. Correct for the serial and case back noted. The biggest tell is the thinness of the coronet and font as well as the infamous Long E in Rolex.
Below I've enclosed a photo of the an Mk 2 dial I owned. The Rolex font much is typically fatter and coronet is more condensed (similar to a pre Comex sub). Note the stark differences in the E's, the Mk 2 has big serifs. |
