Pulling my heart strings.

So TRF, I currently own a DJ II grey slate. Blue roman dial was on my mind for a bit, so I decided to try it on at my AD. I thought I liked the blue Romans but when I tried it on at the AD, I kind of liked it, but I didn't love it. Then I tried on a Datejust II with the rhodium dial and Arabic numerals for the hell of it, and I felt a little tingly on the inside. I want a blue face in my collection, but I also want this DJ II, I feel as though inevitably I'm going to end up with some variation of a blue face eventually, but when I tried on the blue Romans, it just didn't sing to me as well as the Arabic rhodium dial. Also the Rhodium dial is a variation of grey, and I already own a grey dial, so I feel it is sort of pointless to get another grey dial. Help me TRF!!

Get an iconic blue dial from AP either a 15400, 15300, or 15202.

I also want a blue dial in my collection and i decided if i get an AP it will be a blue dial as thats AP boutique dial color.

I would whatever DJ II that you like but wouldn't worry so much about the blue dial.

I dont know if this helps but i just bought my DJ II and almost got the blue dial but then agreed ill get it with an AP watch and have something iconic.

I have been eyeballing the blue AP dial, I'll probably have to do a lot more saving for that in the future.

Does it have to be a DJ II? The best looking blue dial that Rolex makes is on the TT/YG Sub, in my opinion. The blue sunburst is an absolute work of art. If not done so, you should try it on. The slate green roman dial of the DJ II and the blue sunburst dial of the TT Sub make for an excellent pairing.

Here's a couple of shots from my old collection.

I'm probably going to get a lot of grief for this but, I personally don't really like the sports models, I like to go a little more 'dressy' if you will. I like the sports models, I just don't really like them on me, if that makes sense.

Makes perfect sense, my friend. To each their own. Good luck.

My old boss had a saying, "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion- even if they are wrong." Love me a bluesy! I can wear it cutting grass or with a suit to close a deal. It gets attention either way.

Had the slate...

A few people said it was the best looking DJII made. However, the two tones just have not stayed with me.

Now I have the Arabic dial and with the smooth bezel and I really love it.

That Arabic dial is all over my radar. Probably my next acquisition.

I really like that slate dial so would hold on to it. For a blue dial the DJ2 Sticks dial is very nice as is an AP RO.

I don't see myself getting rid of my TT. I really love it. But I need steel for more casual everyday, that arsbic dial is really gorgeous

Not sure who, but I believe someone recently picked a Blue stick dial DJ, I much prefer that over the romans...the IIII and the lone 9:00 marker bother me. I can see why the blue attracts you though!

Go with the one that made you feel 'tingly', there's a reason that happened.

I agree, but I feel having two greyish dials would be overkill.

But if it's the one you like, what does it matter? If you get something else for the sake of it being different I think you may regret it in the long run. Good luck with your search.

What about the DJ II blue dial white stick? I had a blue roman and be honest lost the love of the look. I was very close to swapping it for a blue dial white stick, but in the end got a BLNR. That gave me all the blue I wanted.

White stick with fluted seems like a clash of dressy and formal, again, I liked it but just didn't tingle the way the arabic dial did.

I think I'm battling with the fact that i'll have two greyish dials, and no blue, which I know that I want a blue in my collection sooner or later.

Go with your heart. Seems like one has already caught your eye. If you really want blue gives you reason for another down the road.

Have you looked at the yachtmaster at all? The blue dial is nice on that. That was another option before I finally made my decision.

I'd get the white dial on the yachtmaster. Didn't like the blue on it.

Love the slate and green.

I'd go smooth next. Add diversity to the similarity.

I had this one for a while and really loved the blue. If I ever get another DJ, I'll get this one again. The blue stick dial seems to be more popular but this version has so much depth and I just love the Romans.

This would be my pick...beautiful blue dial with sticks and smooth bezel to complement your lovely slate with Romans.
