Legit Check
Hey guys, can someone help legit check this watch for me?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/16610-Submar...MAAOSwBLlVLEw~ This would be my first rolex, and seller and I have agreed to a great price for the watch. I've researched almost everything about it, and asked just about all the right questions. This auction is basically for a watch head with all the paper work and box. Watch is a 16610, early 90s, and seller is saying it was recently serviced by them. There is also a 14 return policy, if it was a fake, or contains any fake parts. Everything seems just about right, but I'm still certain about it. This transaction would be outside of ebay, and through paypal. Let me know your thoughts, thanks |

You could find one from a trusted seller on here for close to the same price, why take a chance?

Yeah, thanks for the heads up. The S in the "Submariner" looks off as well compared to the link you just sent. Thanks!

I don't think it's a fake. I think that is a weird reflection on the crown guards or someone did a bad job polishing.

The seller deals in watches and has an excellent rating. Not sure if that guarantees that the watch is real but they always say, buy the seller..

The 3 on the date dial looks a bit odd. Also, if the watch has been recently serviced, why not show the pics of the movement and the serial numbers? Finally, there are no pics of the lugs and that is a no-no for me.
Not sure? Save your pennies and get a brand new item from a AD. |

i agree with the comments on the crown guards. Case looks after market... also the crown itself is too short and the color is off.

Seems the seller is a member here. Maybe you should send him a PM and ask him to chime in here. www.rolexforums.com/member.php?u=85055

im confused those crown guards are different and so is the insert. the dial S is also flat on the watch you posted instead of round as in the ebay.
convinced it is not the same watch. |

Yes, this is the same watch. I reached out to the seller yesterday for more pictures, and this is what he sent for this watch and ebay listing.

The ebay picture has DIFFERENT insert, (flat 4, patina pearl), rounded S in the dial, and thick crown guards. The picture you sent the potential buyer has pointed 4 insert, no patina pearl, and flat S dial. I suggest you get this sorted out ASAP. |

Limited-watches, this thread, combined with your regular appearance in the Watchout section, has my finger hovering over the ban button right now. I suggest you address this issue fully and promptly.
