GMT DATE function
Hi All,
As mentioned in my incoming thread i noticed something re the date, it was changing date at 10pm as i flick through the date wheel. I am not sure if this is normal as its my first GMT and first watch with the independent moving hour. It made me think to also check the SUBC I have recorded some videos, please would you guys have a look and let chime in on this. Just want to know if its normal and if it is i would love to learn what is happening for my own understanding. My youtube vids are below Apologies for the crappy iphone quality https://youtu.be/G-5YdP6_Dc0 |

my 16710 flips at 12. but looking at your video it seems the date does flip at midnight during initial positive action. does the date flip at 12 or 10 when the watch runs on its own?

Try setting the time to around 2130 hours at any stage during the day and let the watch run normally. Then see what time the date flips during normal operation. If it then flips at around 2200 hours, go back to your AD.

Totally normal, my EXP 2 does the same during quick change, but during normal operation flips at midnight

The date changes mechanically every 24 hours.
How it is visually displayed on the dial is a function of where the movement works were when the hands were placed on. The "fix" is to take the hands off and replace them a bit more precisely. In the meantime it will not affect the operation of the watch in any way.

Totally normal. Going forward the date changes fast going backwards (which the GMT movements are designed to do unlike other models) the date changes slowly around 10. Fast forward, slow backwards is 100% correct.

So I just unscrewed the crown on my GMT2C and pulled it out to first notch to set the local hand time, which also allows setting of the date, and depending how quickly or slowly clockwise & anti-clockwise I twist the crown the date changes between the 10 o'clock & 2 o'clock position, but when the time is set and during normal use the date changes at midnight and not before or after
