GMT II C with green dial??
I was out watch lurking today. I passed the window of one out of two AD´s in Stockholm. Saw some nice items. White and Black Explorer II´s, Explorer I, white faced Millgaus, Sub no date, Sub LV and a SD. Only got one picture with my moblie cam.
They also had a couple of other nice Rollies on display. A GMT with stones all over the place(not in picture)!! Another watch caught my eye though. (not in picture) It was a GMT II C....my guess a s/s model, but with the green dial. I thought the green dial only came in combination with y/g?? Any one seen this before...or could it have been a w/g version if such a thing exisit??

i thought it only came in y/g too. I am pretty sure there is no white gold version either. Quite strange, maybe others can shed some light

Agreed - that's what I thought, too.
In fact I saw one today, in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, which looked really great. The AD told me that the YG GMT IIc model comes with either a black, or green, dial.

Maybe it was the light, David, but I'm pretty sure that if you saw a Green dial, then it would have been a YG model. I don't think (and I may be wrong) that the GMT comes in any combinations other that SS, TT, or YG, with the Green dial only being available with the YG. Anyway, please let us know the outcome .

There was one discussed on this Forum a while back but I think the dial had been changed to green by a non AD.

My old AD did get a TT with green dial from Rolex but was told to return it as it was an error.
To get green dial with TT is $1000 after market. |

I do believe that there is a white gold GMT II with plenty of ice on the bezel and bracelet, w/a black face. Saw a TT with a green face on ebay once. The guy that bought the green face didn't like it so he modified it.

I believe it must have been a trick of the eye. Maybe some green colour from the surroundings reflected in the dial. At least officially, there is no such thing as a steel or WG GMT IIc with green dial.

I agree. I saw my first green-dial in an AD last week. It's waaaay more "Kermit" than the pics online would suggest. It would be screaming at you that it was green. If we have to think about how it may have played tricks on our eyes or that it looked kind of green, it wasn't.

Mystery Solved!
I called the AD earlier today to have this sorted out. The told me that non of their SS GMT II c came with another dial then the black one. SO...it must have been a green reflextion in the window that tricked my eye. Sorry for the disturbance and thanks for listening!
cheers David

No problem. It's happened to me once, as well. A DD with Champagne dial looked like it had a silver dial (my favourite) in the window display, so I hurried in to have a look at it. Once brought out of the window and into a different kind of light, it turned out to be a Champagne dial.
