New to buying and collecting
Hi Guys,
I'm new to the world of Rolex and want to start a collection . Couple of questions 1: Key things to look for? 2. Is ebay a safe (in general) place to buy such an investment? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated Thanks |

First always buy the seller before the watch, and Ebay in most cases is not the best place to start for your first watch.Second modern day Rolex watches should not be thought of as any sort of investment.Buy a Rolex because you want to own and wear one of the finest mechanical watches made today.

1: First thing to look for is a watch that you love and will enjoy wearing
2: EBay can be safe if you know what you are doing, but since you are new to the Rolex game I would recommend buying either from an Authorized Rolex Dealer or one of the trusted sellers on this site...DavidSW or Sohail are a couple, but there are many other's with amazing reputations. |

If you are asking this question, then the answer is no.

As others have said in similar ways, there is really no reason to buy on eBay, especially as a newbie. Some AD's are better than others (bigger discounts/better service) and there are many "trusted sellers" on this forum. They will have pre-owned, and in many cases brand new watches at deep discounts with overnight shipping. And, better selection than most AD's.
David SW and Sohail have been mentioned. Both great. So are Peter at WX Watches, AkaTakuya, Bodybump and many others. Spend some time on the Rolex for sale section and you'll quickly recognize many names. Do your research from there and ask lots of questions. These guys on this forum are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. |
