Daytona Baselworld 2016

Hi guys,

Pretty new to the TRF, recently was told I am next on the waiting list for a SS Black Dial Daytona. It will be my first rolex, and I finally decided to pull the trigger when I came across some posts about basel world 2016 and how a new Daytona might be unveiled.

Could anyone tell me if they know anything about the rumours and more importantly should I wait and will the value of my watch go down?

Thanks guys!!

Buy the Daytona and don't worry about what "may" "possibly" come out

This happens to new buyers every year. The current model is stunning no matter what comes out after

And for the record would be very very very doubtful for a change in the SS Daytona next year

The precious metals and two tones are due next most likely for a ceramic bezel

All I know is that *if* a ceramic Daytona were to be released at the next Basel event, I would 100% buy one...

Me too no question. I don't care if I have to go into my savings. I'm buying a SS ceramic Daytona.

Rolex is not Apple.
The present Daytona is gorgeous and holds their value.

In the event a new ss ceramic model comes out, I believe in the following:
The price of the present one will not fall through the roof.
The price of the new one is definitely going to be more expensive.
I am going to own both versions.

same question has been popping up past 6 years. they have to go all gold then TT then SS with their changes, count on at lest 5-6 more years before you see any changes on daytona IMO

Rumors are just that, rumors. Rolex doesn't put out information on what, if anything, they will unveil.

Besides, if you have one now, and a new one is unveiled, the value of your discontinued watch generally goes up, not down.

Also remember, if you buy the Daytona right, your losses will be minimal if you decide to flip it.

As the 116519 has been discontinued, I suspect that a new ceramic Daytona in WG is on the way.
