Amazing Grace: Outer Banks, N.C.!!

Hi Guys!
Just back from the Outer Banks, in North Carolina. I've done quite a bit of travel over the years in Europe, Asia, Carribean, South America, North America. BUT: Ockracoke, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills...the Outer Banks, N.C. is as beautiful and wondrous a place as any. By the Way, the Piper played Amazing Grace as the sun set over the dunes. People cheered, time passed away.
best,
dan
hope you enjoy these:

Dan, thanks for the pictures. It is amazing how beautiful the barrier islands are on the east coast.. Got to love the names of the islands.

I love the NC Outer Banks. One of my favourite vacation spots. There is some excellent wreck diving there as well.

outerbanks of n.c.

thanks guys! it's a wonderful place...peaceful; we did lots of outdoors stuff like fishing...one day(no fish story) on a half-day charter we caught 50 fish in 3 hours and stopped(spanish mackerel and bluefish)....cooked em up, and yummy with Stella Artois, man, doesn't get better than that; mix it up with sunrise at the dunes or beach, and voila! paradisio........
best,
dan

Nice 1/2 day of fishing there. I used to work with a guy from Ocrakoke and all he talked about was making enough money to move back for good. After seeing your pics I understand why.

Looks like you had a grand time. I grew up about an hour and a half from the Outer Banks and they are a beautiful place.

One of my fondest memories is a bicycle trip we took with my parents and another family to Ocracoke when I was about ten years old or so...

I haven't been in quite a while but you've inspired me to return.

OBX are one of America's greatest assets. Looks like a great time was had by all. The off-season (mid-Sept.-Oct.) is great a great time to visit, less crowds, etc.

i doubt there's any AD around on the Outer Banks themselves, but not sure. My guess is you are likely to have to go to Raleigh Durham area or maybe Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads?
best,
dan
