Wynn Las Vegas Platona

First, apologies for no pictures.

I stopped by the Wynn a couple of days ago to checkout the platinum DD40 & the Platona. I was really expecting to fall for the DD40 with tapestry dial but in the end it simply didn't "sing". Next I tried the Platona. I was expecting the weight to be a deal breaker, but .......

The Platona is simply awesome. The watch is noticeably heavy; however, the weight distribution seems perfect and the watch seems very balanced, i.e. not top heavy. I can definitely see this watch as a future addition.

For those Platona owners out there, is this watch comfortable as a daily wearer in a decent rotation?

I wear mine every day. Although heavy, it doesn't cause any excess fatigue on the wrist. I think it makes for a great daily wear piece.

So if you take the "D" off of Daytona and replace it with the "PL" in platinum to make Playtona does that make the Platinum Day Date a Play Date? Day Plate? Play Plate? Just asking.

I think the price is justified when people ask you what kind of watch it is and you say platona and there confused

Agree with other owners, pretty much my daily wearer. I have a 6.25 inch wrist and am 150 pounds and don't notice the weight

The watch is perfectly balanced and can go anywhere do anything, my favorite watch of all time!!!!

It is my daily wearer. It's easy to wear, despite the weight, however make sure you get it properly fitted. Once it's fitted correctly, it's pure awesomeness!

I think the plantona is better than the DD40 PT. DD40 probably my favorite rolex right now but i don't see the need for the platinum version as i love the YD/RG version. So if I'm going to spend in the 45k range for a rolex i would choose the plantona easily.

Weight is not a problem. In fact, its presence makes it almost a let down to wear anything else.

The same exact thing happen to me. From pictures I thought the platinum DD40 was my choice, I was just trying on to confirm it. Unfortunately, it didn't sing to me either. Even more surprising was how much I loved the platona. So much so I had to get it a few weeks later.
