Fake or Real Day-Date

Hi all,
I hope you are doing well. I recently purchased a used Rolex Day-Date. I was told it is a collectors edition. It seems legit, but there is no 18k stamp on the back of it. Attached are pictures of the watch. I still have the opportunity to return it. So, I would like to review the opinions of the TRF community. Thank you in advance for your time!
P.S. The bracelet is stainless steel and I am in the process of purchasing a new 18k bracelet.

Fake for sure. It would never come with a SS bracelet thats gold plated. Not even sure what a collectors edition means. So the guy that sold you it is just saying stuff. Return it. Don't buy a gold bracelet don't waste your money. Buy an authentic DD and it will come with the right bracelet.

You could also stop at any mall jeweler and they can test the diamonds with that stick beeper light flashing thing. I doubt they would go thru the trouble of getting a real diamond bezel if the watch is fake.

On the watch itself I am not sure what is actually off on it to make that call.

Looks like an 1803 with the incorrect bracelet. Not so sure the head is a fake. Likely aftermarket bezel and dial as well. Here's mine.

I agree that the head needs a bit closer look.

It's not totally fake so it depends on price and how the watch was described. The head looks original, as in the case itself but overpolished. The dial is a pan pie non quickset dial with aftermarket added diamonds, so it's no longer classed as original. The band is total rubbish if steel. I hope this helps.

What he said... this is a heavily customized watch but it looks to be an 1803... aftermarket dial/bezel... The steel bracelet is worthless... not sure if the seller disclosed these aftermarket add ons but it can be saved with an original dial, bezel, and bracelet.

Thank you all for your help! He stated that the watch itself was 18k gold and I had purchased it for a little under 15k. After I made the purchase and confronted him about the bracelet, he told me that the watch is the most important part and that if I wanted to get an 18k bracelet, it would range around an additional 3k-4k.

$15K for just the head? That's crazy, you can buy a pre-owned DD quickset with a genuine band for less than that.

Based on my limited time here I'd say $6k or less for that watch - but based on price OP paid -WAY too many nicer ones to choose from.

The old research after purchase curse

$15k!? Don't expect him to give that money back without a fight... he EASILY doubled his money on the deal... at least!

I got my DD 118238 for 15.5k and that has all the bells and whistles with the proper bracelet.
