Oris Carl Brashear Bronze Limited Edition, let's hear your thoughts.

Do you guys think that this will be a great breakthrough for Oris with this watch release.

Breakthrough ? Doubt it. I have a huge admiration for Oris but they haven't been able to find that sweet spot in mainstream just yet. I'd love to see them on a wrist more often.

I would prefer it without the date

"The Navy Diver is not a fighting man, he is a salvage expert... If it is lost underwater, he finds it. If it's sunk, he brings it up. If it's in the way, he moves it... If he's lucky, he will die young, 200 feet beneath the waves, for that is the closest he'll ever get to being a hero. Hell, I don't know why anybody would want to be a Navy Diver."

Hi mr.nice _watch guy
Breakthrough for Oris ?? Gimme a Break ! The Oris design team from what's that place again Helsinki? Van Helsing ? Halstein ? didnt do justice to the watch(except the backcasing engravings which was a very nice touch). You honour the first American African US Navy Master Diver by issuing a misely 100 m Desk Diving watch ? I mean Come On guys, Black people can dive too.... Mr Carl had near death diving experiences descending to sea depths of what ? 500-600 m using a vintage diving suit and helmet right ?

Hello ! Please dont insult the US Master Chief boatswain's mate ,mind you, that's the highest Navy Rank with a low bulb low depth ratings swimming pool watch, dont give me that cost cutting maximizing profit Bullshit man !!! Who's the wise guy at Oris that made the decision to adjust the lugs width to 21 mm so that buyers would find it tough searching for aftermarket strap options...
Pray tell me WHY is the dial dark blue or midnight blue or whateverrrrr....
May I suggest a Bronze diver with a refreshing Green or Dark Chocolate dial to match his skin tone ?
What if Mr Carl Brashear was still alive today and assuming Oris had issued an identical regular bronze watch but without the words 'Carl Brashear LE' special at the back casing, would Carl still choose the Oris or would he rather pick one of the following watches....There was a movie about the story of Carl Brashear staring Cuba Gooding Jr called "Men of Honour " right ? Maybe the executive producers should change the title of the movie to "Honour the Men ! "

Wow! Only 100m for diver watch? You get much more for your money with Seiko Diver watches, unless Oris is your thing or must have
