Incoming - Arrived - Explorer-II-#216570 - Black & White
The back story is that 33 years ago I bought a Stainless-Black-Submariner-Date.
Then about 20 years ago, bought a 40mm Stainless-White-Explorer-II; and the Sub saw very little wrist time since. I kept one on the winding-box and switched between them occasionally; and always had one ready-to-go should the other one need servicing. This past fall my AD sent them both to Rolex for full-service; then I gave them to my twin daughters, who are in their early 30's. In the meantime, I bought a 42mm Explorer-II in White-Dial from same AD..... Shortly afterwards, my OCD was really ticking, so I ordered a second identical WHITE Ex-2....(always needing back-ups for my back-ups) However, I also asked my AD to let me know if/when they receive a NEW Ex-2 in BLACK.....simply to inspect. I got the call a couple of days ago and stopped in today. I walked out with the new BLACK Ex-2.... I'll write an entire review on both in the near future, but (for me) these are the PERFECT Watches.... I have an 8-inch+ wrist and always use TWO additional full-size links in all of my Watches....these also. I'll never wear another 40mm watch again.... They installed the links, ripped the tape off, and I walked out.... I LOVE THESE WATCHES! |
