Icon19 Please maintain trf standards

I think our standards have dropped a little.

I notice on another thread some swearing.

Can we please get back on track & respect this superior forum & it's members...?

I personally wouldn't respond to anyone using profanity.

My apologies to anyone reading this who hasn't used profanity, but I really feel TRF is superb & I would hate any visitors or lurkers to get the wrong impression - especially if it's a posting by JJ!!

Just my .02

The offender has received a warning/infraction. You can see he's got a "red" card on his post.

In that case, I can consider myself very lucky....when you think of the number of times I've used words like "tosser" and "bastid"!!

Unfortunately a byproduct of TRF growing is that the occasional troll will find his way in. Note to self: Must resist the urge to feed these trolls, lol.

There is a difference when using certain words in a joking manner while amongst friends versus some of the foul language insults we all read earlier today

Tosser is a term of endearment now isn't it?

It is sad when things get nasty, but it doesn't happen often and I think we are very lucky considering the amount of people now using the forum.

In addition to what Tony wrote, people please refrain from discussing Folex. All such discussions should be restricted within "Watch Out" section.

Yep, hat's off to the mods for keeping this place running smooth & cracking skulls when they need to.

I second that. The Mod.'s do work very hard, but occasionally, one does slip through the cracks. It's just shameful that some of these people (aka Trolls) feel the need to use explicit language on a family forum. Oh well :(

Tony, thank you for posting this. TRF has become a premier forum because of the tenor of it's membership. It's a distinct privilege for me to be part of such a wonderful place where people from all walks of life can gather and freely share their love of the hobby and the experiences and knowledge.

To the everlasting credit of it's membership TRF, as big as it's become and as busy as it is, it needs very little moderation. Only in a place where there is mutual respect can this occur.

Once in a while something occurs that "tilts the ship" a bit. As with all excellent forums the membership quickly rises to the call to make things right. Usually that is all that's necessary. Hopefully this case will be no different.

Thanks to all of the mods for keeping this place civilised and friendly. It is a shining example!

99.9999% recurring of the folk on here are human beings - 0.000001% are idiots. More power to the humans.
