Icon9 rolex quality down or bad luck?

My 2 new Rolexes had problems, submariner's crown stem is broken and sent for warranty work its not even 2 years old and explorer I power reserve is really bad watch losing time. I cant be even bothered fixing it again as it was sent for repair before.
Old airking was fine for almost 10 years and kept good time.
No more new Rolexes for me.

Have you broken a mirror recently? Perhaps you walked under a ladder.

Three brand new from the ad since 2006 or thereabouts. All keep perfect time. None in for service yet and I am definitely not delicate with my possessions. They all get used.

Were they under warranty?

I would still take Rolex over any other brand relative to reliability.

I think I should sell those unreliable items and be done with it, but my other side the one with wristwatch collecting illness wants to keep them.

I would also say bad luck. Personally have had very few issues with any modern piece I have.

Check out some of the other sub-forums before you cross off Rolex.

Likely bad luck. Even worse is you drew two cards in a row too.

I'd send it in and I'm pretty sure it will be resolved. Especially if you give them the history of your issues.

Your sample size of three watches over ten years is a bit small to draw any conclusions.....

The problems you have identified are not typical of most peoples experiences.
However, everything you have described is fixable by utilising the Rolex Warranty Service.
Good luck end of story

Things can happen with anything mechanical. Watches, cars, motorcycles. Don't sweat it. I have been wearing Rolex over 20 years. Biggest issue was a small metal shaving trapped in between the dial and crystal on my 16610 Sub. It was remedied under warranty. There is nothing made by man that cannot be fixed when broken! Get the watch fixed and enjoy it! Don't sweat the small things in life.

They have been making about a million a year for decades, so your assertion that this is something new is errant.

What is the power reserve on your Explorer? Why do you think it's not correct?

Probably Rolex hired the services of Patek QC for your two watches :) - unlucky.

That's terrible luck but I wouldn't write off Rolex yet until given a chance to make it right. That's what warranties are for isn't it?

Same - I've purchased 4 new watches (Daytona, BLNR, Deep Blue, and ND Sub) in the past couple of years with no issues at all.

Just coincidence and bad luck...the stem issue with the Sub may have been from mis-aligning the winding crown and the Expy is just poor service techs IMHO.

A broken stem is usually not something that just happens, 9 times out of 10 it breaks when you wind the watch or set the time when it's on your wrist.

Anyway, bad luck.. Hope it gets resolved soon and you can enjoy them
