Victory for Sub 16610 over the Sub C 116610

The ceramic mode cases on the subs, GMT etc are too flat and plain on the side opposite the crown guard. I really don't like it. Look at the difference in the shots of the 2006 sub on my wrist against the new model. Simple as that.

I agree I've owned both and kept the 16610 over the ceramic. I like the lines of the ceramic SeaDweller over the ceramic Sub. Just couldn't get used to the new sub

This is one of the reasons why I like the older references better (5 digits or older).

Huge fan of 5

Just better proportions overall and slimmer profile

Pros and cons with both really - am a big fan myself of the four and five digit models, but have also settled on a 114060 Sub too, having tried the 42mm Explorer and SD 4000 and flipped them

116610
Maxi Dial
Ceramic Bezel
Better Lume
Glidelock
Arguably, better bracelet
Squared "Maxi" Case

16610
Doesn't have maxi case, wins.

I really want to love the 116610. There are so many reasons I should want to upgrade, but the squareness of the case is so unsexy, and enough to make me want to never "move up." 16610 love.

Another vote to 5-digits.

I much prefer the slender lines of the 5-digit Subs and even SDs.

I have to admit that the SDc is the most tolerable (to me) of the current line of divers, but still prefer my 16600.

In any case I think that the worst case of unnecessarily bloated case is the new GMTc. They have erased pretty much all the advantages in wear-ability that the GMTs had over the Sub. The venerable 167x0 were lighter and wore slimmer on the wrist, which made perfect sense for a non-diver watch.

I have owned both and the Sub C is my choice hands down. I prefer the case, love the lume, and the Glidelock is the best feature. To each their own.

I've had both but enjoyed the 50th anniversary sub. Maxi dial and hands plus very bright lume without the square lugs.

Five one for me over six in the battle of the subs!!! Love my 14060!!!

It's comfortable and easily modified with different straps; this winter it's leather nato for me.

Considered the 116610. Although a beautiful reference, it was not for me. Ended up adding a SD4K instead.

I don't know, the polished chamfers make the watch a bit too blingy and more like jewellery.
