Incoming Datejust II
Hey guys,
Just about to pull the trigger on my first Rolex... The story so far, when I graduated 10 years ago I bought my first "luxury" watch this was a Tag Heuer Aquaracer Day Date Chronograph. When I got married, I bought a watch to "tux it up" so what followed was a Cartier Tank Solo XL on a black leather strap. Upon getting married the woman of my dreams bought me a Tag Heuer Carrera on a brown leather strap. I've now got a nice little collection that I can rotate. Now I've just opened another business I've decided to treat myself to something special; and after researching through you lovely folk I narrowed it down to this little beauty; Datejust II; only thing is can't decide between black and silver, what do you guys think? Or any other suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I like the silver, but my favorite is the rhodium dial with Arabic numerals.

Black. I didn't think it would be as versatile a piece with the fluted bezel and all but it just goes with everthing.

On that model, the silver. Black Rolex dials are a bit too tool-watchy for a nice dress watch, imo. Understand that this opinion is worth exactly what you're paying for it.
Get the one that speaks to you. If neither do, wait. Then get the silver. ;) Hilo |

Black would be my choice also. To me, it gives the watch depth/substance, instead of the mono look of steel and silver..... Each to their own however, and neither would be a bad choice!

Congrats in advance. The black might be a bit more understated than the white, but both are superb choices!

The silver is second only to the blue sticks...so that is my vote. Both look fantastic on you, however. Congrats in advance.

Can't really go wrong with either choice. Personally, I love the look of the black and the blue, but they're all fantastic!

Can't lose here. I'd give the slight edge to the silver dial since you will likely end up getting another Rolex and black dials are more ubiquitous. Figure if you get the silver dial Datejust II now, you can get a Submariner or GMT-Master II down the road with a black dial.
