Non punched guarantee papers, Submariner purchase
Hi guys,
I bought another sub the other day and it came with guarantee papers that haven't been punched with the serial of the watch. The date of sale matches the year of serial and it also came with some service paperwork. Rolex had a look and verified that the papers are genuine but couldn't say why they wouldn't have been punched. There was something written in the space but it has faded over time, it's an 80's watch. I'm not concerned about the watch just curious about the guarantee and wondered if anyone else had come across this or has papers like this. Thanks in advance Chris I'll post Sub pic shortly |

I have put a down payment at the local AD on a 1987 President that has a non-punched certificate.

Hi Phillip, did they give any reason for the non punched?

No. Of course the first reaction is 'WTF'? But the AD and this rep have my trust so I'm suspending disbelief. The watch is nice and real. Their tech is RSC trained and will give it a once over before I get to walk out with it. Has box, booklet and this 'paper' that's blank.

Either it was written in with pen or pencil or they just bought blank papers on eBay and included it with the purchase.
I would say those papers do not add value to the watch and I would not be worried unless you paid a complete set premium. |

@GB-man, what do you mean by pspeed? Also, I like your "addiction issues" after your favourite watch. I GET it, I'm right in it at the moment.

Have seen that often on Omegas (warranty cards where the reference number is not pre-filled and is fill by AD on the sale), but not from Rolex.
Perhaps Rolex have those available for AD's to replace damage / lost certificates before a watch is sold? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Tom, sorry, I was reading about 3 posts at the same time and got that mixed up with yours. I'm not nuts, honest. Well, maybe sometimes :)
