Incoming! A second ceramic.

Incoming! A second ceramic.

Before the 718, I had a YG Daytona with the PN dial. I wore the Daytona for about 6 months and sold it. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Daytona. But there was so much gold going on. Gold oyster bracelet, gold bezel, gold champagne dial. Only the subdials were black. Hardly any contrast in the color and design.

Another piece that was flipped for almost the same reason was my 116622 YM1. It was a stunning piece, especially when platinum dial hits the sunlight - it sparkles. But the overall color scheme was very monotonous. Silver everywhere.

But when I saw the YG GMT2C, that was another story. The gold and the black shiny Cerachrom bezel contrasted beautifully. After getting the 718, I was hooked with the ceramic!

At this moment in time, I needed an everyday watch. A watch that wouldn't become a scratch-magnet (those PCLs!). A tough, reliable tool watch that also has the bling element of the Cerachrom bezel. A watch that would look great with jeans and would not look weird with in suit. I went with this, the Rolex classic - the SubC Date.

After wearing it for a week, I know now why the Sub is a best-seller. This is my humble Rolex collection.

If you have them wear them...what's the point of having a great beautiful watch if you won't wear... I have 5 and I rotate through them

Thanks everybody for the kind words.

The SubC is one of those watches you know it's gonna be be with for a long long time.

It's not a watch that makes a statement. Nor is it the best looking watch for the price point. But it is a watch that WORKS!
