No, and how an AD can sell that is beyond me.
Look at the rolex crown, either spike from the outer side o the crown is not even & it has seen a horrible relume job. I dont have good knowledge of explorer dials so I am speaking from general experience but i'm 100% confident in my opinion.

Hi Pete,
I am not very knowledgeable on Explorers. Is the gilt relieve gilt on the whole dial including the chapter ring and SWISS? Obviously the lume was done poorly. Maybe try and get some macro pics from different angles to view the gilt. Based on pictures on the net, the crowns and formatting are all over the map. Some of the pics are from credible sources. Wish I could be more help. |

This is the origanal sales bumf as in the shop window for this watch No 6150 Manufactured in 1954 with one previous owner. This watch is one of the earliest Explorers. Rolex introduced the model after Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Everest in 1953. It has its original gold figured dial and is fitted with the correct strap

Just been confirmed that the dial is a total repaint ,not as ROLEX agent said It has its original gold figured dial , is just not true, so now would Rolex called it a fake?
