Really surprised to see they're pressing on with the Advisor.

It's not for me. The dial is too busy and the case a little too large. I didn't expect a new Advisor would be on their priority list, despite it showing off their most complicated complication.

The new BB36, however... sigh!

I like the 36 mm best, but it should have been done without the snowflake hand. AFAIK Tudor has only used that on dive watches in the past.

Yeah, the BB36 is interesting. Not sure what to make of it really. Crystal is flat, which I think is a shame. No rotating bezel and a 2824 inside...should be cheap as chips, especially on leather.

That's my concern

Just noticed the Black Bay Dark has got the old-style straight endlinks, which is a bit of an odd choice for the most modern looking version.

Love the BB Bronze, especially on the aged leather strap.

70 hr reserve too!

I'm gonna say that it's to do with the coating..Enlinks will tend to rub a little bit on the case between the lugs at the area in which the Rolex SN used to be engraved and leave scrapes. If it had SEL then you'd see all those contact marks on the case between the lugs whenever you put it on a strap. The links they chose to use only contact in the same points where the strap will make contact & cover.

I'm not much for smaller than 40mm watches but the BB36 is quite attractive! Obviously simple.

I hadn't spotted that... and I like it very much! I'd never go for PVD, but the straight links, a la Ranger, are very cool

Seems to be is pointed to people (like me!) who love the Rolex Explorer 1 36mm proportions (1016, 14270, 114270) over the newer 39mm version (214270); the look is quite similar other than the lack of arabics and the hands.

That makes sense Jake. I'm not sure about putting a rivet bracelet with an updated shield-logo dial, though. Should have kept the rose, IMO. Plenty of scope for BB mixing and matching in the future, I guess.

I'm kind of feeling that BB36. Very Explorer like with the smooth bezel and size. Would have been a winner if they released it with an in-house movement.

I'm surprised they're even calling it a Black Bay. It's a bit like calling an Explorer a Submariner.

It does seem odd, despite the obvious snowflake diver reference. Still, at least the rose appears on the crown - love it!

Do you mean the BBB Dark? That's official, so BBBD I suppose.

All the 2016 Tudor Basel Releases online

Of all the new Tudor releases, I'm kind of digging the updated Tudor Style. Added a fluted bezel and a blue sun-ray dial. I think Tudor now has a decent looking more formal option.

These all look very amateurish. Tudor needs to hire a proper designer.

I like pretty much everything they released.

But I don't love any of them.

I'm also not a huge fan of the in-house movement direction they are going in. I really like how Tudor is still a reasonably priced "tool" watch, type brand. With them going in this new direction it changes things.

Sounds like the new movement will make the bb significantly thicker!

Bubbleback! Not good. The flat back is one of the BB's best features, IMO.

Tudor historically has used third party movements (390, various ETA's) allowing easy access to repairs and parts, with the new movements customers are now completely enslaved to the 'official' service route.

For this reason I got my ranger last year with its ETA movement
