Icon19 Basel 2016: What are your highlights?

For me:
  1. Tudor Black Bay 36 - I'm going to struggle to resist this little gem.
  2. Steel Daytonas - Absolutely stunning! I don't have a Daytona, but when I win the Lottery(!), I'm going to have to have both.
  3. Explorer - I've already got the 214270, which I remain very happy with despite the short hands, but the new one looks fabulous IMO.

Your highlights?

in order:

1. explorer (IMHO, the way it should have always been)
2. grey/blue YM (i like the greater contrast of the darker dial, plus touch of "platinum" blue)
3. WG blue daytona (blue and red accents....)
4. SS black daytona (wrist shots are stunning with this one, more so than the white, IMHO)
5. WG green DD40 (i like the dial and overall feel of this anniversary piece)
6. PVD BB on leather or fabric strap (NOT the bracelet)

This is the most exciting Rolex/Tudor Basel in my experience, which only dates to 2009.

I just don't recall so many solid hits in one year.

I think Rolex knocked it out of the park with this years Basel offerings. Fortunately for me my money is safe because I'm happy with my current line up. I like all the new models but not enough to part with what I have. Now if there was a SS Coke GMT that would be a different story.

1. Tudor Black Bay Black - upgraded.
2. Rolex Daytona ceramic, white dial.
3. Patek Philippe 5204R.

Might pick up the Black Bay this year

1. SS Ceramic Daytona
2. SS Ceramic Daytona
3. SS Ceramic Daytona
4. YG Green dial Daytona
5. RG Day-Date40 Green dial

If i had to pick one i would probably go with the YG Daytona green dial but SS ceramic is probably going to be my next one without taking a large hit to the bank.

Currently, I own two Tudors - Hydronaut II and Prince Date.
My highlight from this year's Baselworld, Tudor Black Bay 36 hit me right in the soft spot, so I'm absolutely sure that it will soon be an addition to my small collection!
Other than that, I kinda liked everything that Rolex presented - Daytonas are cool (blue one in WG especially), Explorer is awesome as always, Tudor Black Bay PVD is great (I don't like the bracelet without the endlinks, but it's not the deal-breaker), Black Bay bronze is something that I have to see in person, as well as new Tudor Style with fluted bezel...
The only watch that I didn't care for is the new 40mm Air-King, with it's weird combination of fonts and colors, with (IMHO) unnecessary busy dial (on a simple three-hander)...but 40mm is a good size and I'll give it a chance whet it comes to my AD.

All in all - not bad Baselworld at all in my opinion!

My highlight is the grey yachtmaster and the bronze Tudor.

That being said, I am going to focus on some older patek pieces for now.

I am not very impressed by the 36 Black Bay mainly just due to the ETA 2824 movement, but it's a good looking watch for sure, practical and elegant. Tudor has done it right this time.
