Do you guys think Rolex will put the new 3255 in all their watches?

Hey guys I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy my first Rolex. I've been a big fan of the blue dial Yacht master since it came out back in 2012. I just got back from seeing it in person for the first time at the AD and loved it. Awesome blue color that changes depending on the lighting and angle you look at it. But most importantly I really liked the size of it not too big and nice and thin I thought it looked great on my 7" wrist.

I kind of took a break from watches for the last couple of years but I've never forgotten about the blue Yacht master. Currently I don’t own any high end watches and it really sucks going thru life with a Seiko on your wrist so I think it's time for me to bite the bullet and get a Rolex.

The only reason I ask the question about the new movement is because I've spent more money on watches than any reasonable person should and my next and last watch is going to be something that I can wear everyday and look as good 30 years from now as it does the day I buy it. Since this is going to be a "lifetime" watch I don’t want to rush out and buy a watch that I anticipate on keeping for a few decades that has an old movement when I could wait 6 months or a year and have the newer version.

Since this new movement was introduced last year has Rolex put it in any of their other watches besides the Day Date that they introduced it in? I know the Swiss watch industry moves at a snail's pace and it will probably take them years to fully implement this new movement across their entire line of watches but I would be a bit upset if I went out and got a new Rolex and they put the new movement in it anytime soon.

Padi has already outlined the basic reasons.

Now consider the Daytona in the equation
Not to mention the ladies watches.

This is not something that I would obsess over.

Eventually, the technology will filter down, but no one except Rolex know what timeline.

Also, Rolex doesn't make inferior movements and the introduction of a new movement doesn't render current ones inferior.

So the best course in my view is to buy what you like when you're able and enjoy it.

If Rolex upgrades later, you can always flip and get the new one, if it's that important.

Why would Rolex put a cal 3255 in all there watches the cal 3255 is a movement with a day and date complication so that movement is only for the DD range. Now perhaps Rolex will introduce the cal 3235 into most of there line up sometime in the future, but there is nothing wrong with the present cal 3135 or 3130.

the -55 is reserved for the day/date, but different iterations will trickle down. so the datejust 41 for example, just got the 3235... which most likely will be the one added to the submariner family. they have different names but share a lot of the components.
