First (not inherited) Rolex
Just arrived and thoroughly loving it! Debated on waiting for the updated Explorer, but love the WG numerals. Thanks to all here who've answered questions and PMs along the way

Looks great on your wrist! All this talk about the "new" 214270 however many of us current EXI owners still love the current reference. I agree with you; love the white gold numerals!

Beautiful watch - The only reason I sold mine was because I needed something different from a Black Dial.
But it is a fantastic piece.

I fully agree, really enjoying my Explorer 1. Beautiful to look at and so far very accurate, feels so comfortable I mostly forget I have it on! I also had the choice and went for the WG 3,6 and 9. Looks really good at night time, very easy to read. Nice one.

I love the WG numerals as well. I kind of think lume can be over done and a little tacky. Sports watches over do it. I find the explorer a pretty good mix. And why not get the "limited edition". I bet these versions will maintain their value for being a little rare. Even if they don't, I own a little piece of Rolex history.

Congratulations! The white gold numerals are certainly consistent with the overall "steel" look of the watch, especially in normal light outside. I'll probably try the other version at some point, but may end up having both.
For several years now, I've been focused on relatively high end gold Rolex watches, but my tastes are changing again, and suddenly the Transitional Explorer (someone called it that or something close) is dominating my wrist. I kind of like that; "the Transitional Explorer." It has a kind of expeditionary sound to it. It's certainly better than the less flattering names given by those who didn't like the so-called short hands, which always seemed and still seem OK to me. BTW, it looks great on your arm. |

I 've never met an arm that did not go great with a Rolex.
Congrats, as it really does look smashing on your arm. J. |

That is certainly a beauty. I'm waiting for the new version so I can compare the two side by side but agree the current model is stellar. Congrats on your new timepiece.
