Traded and couldn't be happier

Hi Guys

So after only having my DJ II for 5 months i soon realized especially since I've joined the forums that i really didn't like it as much as i thought i would. Having boughten it new and before i knew of this forum and trusted sellers. So i paid way over what i should of even for a new watch.

I was wearing the watch as my daily work watch but soon realized that my work was a little more rough and the watch was to delicate looking. So i wanted to switch to sub c. After looking around no one wanted to trade straight up or for a reasonable add of money.

Debated this for a while not wanting to lose so much money just in a 6 months period.

Finally decided to pull the trigger but after much debate i choose a GMT C and I'm really glad i did. Biggest concern being comfort and honestly i don't think its any more or less comfortable that my DJ II.

Ive only had my GMT for 3 days but the feeling i have for this watch is way greater than I've ever had for my DJ II.

I guess i should have gone with a GMT in the first place but i guess making mistake which costed me around 3k made me appreciate this watch even more.

Soo...let me get this straight..the DJ ll you purchased new from an AD and it was only 6 mos old...and you paid $3k more in difference for the new GMT?...did the same AD take the DJ back in trade? If so man...i hope you love the GMT and I hope they brought out the lube. I'm sorry but that doesn't sound like a deal to me AT ALL..Truly not trying to be an ass here i'm just saying you could have found a better deal in my eyes..regardless of knowing of this forum. As long as you're happy that's all that matters ultimately, I just hate hearing of people getting hosed by AD's..

Congrats! Had 2 GMTCs (in fact I think we talked about mine when it was for sale). Now I miss mine. Enjoy!

I don't think the trade was that bad. SS DJ II, used pricing isn't great - grey market can go $6k new. At the AD, he paid for loss of the watch, new watch and taxes. All things considered, wasn't that bad.

No i only had to add $400 and my GMT is a V serial Priced at $6,300. So he took my watch at a $5,900 value. But i bought my DJ II for around $8,500.

$5,900 was the best value i got from anyone i talked to. Even the trusted sellers on here would only take it for $5,500 with 4.5 years left on warranty.

Yeah honestly it was the best deal i could find. The DJ II do have a bad resale value.

I don't disagree with your statement I just find it outrageous what AD's pull..hosing a prior customer that already bought a brand new watch at full retail and pulling what they did for the new watch is a hard pill to swallow (for me)...but at the end of the day as long as he is happy that's what matters.

While the blnr is a great piece, I love the look of that one. It has a sporty and classic look to it at the same time. I went through a similar ordeal with a few watches, but it all fades away when you find a watch that finds you. Congrats and wear well my friend.

Congrats!
Too bad the DJII didn't work out. I've been looking to add one, not as my primary watch though.

Ouch. That is why I will never buy new from AD. But an additional $400 to make you happy is a small price to pay. Glad it worked out for you.

Rotated the pic for you. Nice GMTC . I'm sure it was tough taking the loss with the DJ II, but at least you're now satisfied with a watch that meets your needs.
