Just looked at some Omegas

Most of you know I'm not a fan, but I ducked into a jewellry store at lunch cuz the windchill outside today is about -100C.

Anyway, I'm also not a big fan of chronos, but they had a nice moon watch there BNIB for CDN$3800, which I'm sure can be discounted. I thought that was a pretty decent price for such a watch (again, keep in mind out import taxes on luxury items are insane - add about CDN$2000 to the US price of any Rolex and you get the idea).

But what really grabbed me was a broad arrow white dialed chrono with blue hands. WOW that's a sharp looking watch. But it looks sadly kinda small.

I wouldn't buy 'em, but they're pretty nice.

I kinda like the broad arrow as well. I did buy a Seamaster (which was my second serious non-Rolex watch) and it is a very nice timepiece. Pricewise, got it duty free here, so not bad as an extra (ANOTHER!!!!) watch.

Peter, that's the one I saw, but it was quite smaller. Hmm, if it's available in 42mm then that may be something that turns me on to Omega. That's a very handsome watch you have, Mr. Padi.

Yes got it as a trade, with a few military and some vintage, the 38mm has a view back, but the 42mm has solid back. And IMO fine value for money, and would look great if it had blue outer chapter rings on chrono sub dials, instead of all plain white.

Add a blue shark strap. That would look cool.

John, this is the 42mm version
ref# 3851.20.12 it retails for $4800 but getting 35% off is not uncommon

Hey John,

Did the watch have a rotating outer bezel.(Speedmaster) Or similar to Peter's watch (Aqua Terra).

Either way it is an effective colour combo and I aggree with a blue strap.

I like the moonwatch myself. A guy that used to work next to me wore one. It's nice and it has history

You guys are killing me with these chronographs. Please stop!

And thanks to Comatox, I am now hopelessly distracted from my work. If I can't work, I can't pay for my addiction, and it's all your fault!!!!!

The BA chrono is my favorite Omega John, a beauty for sure!! I also like the Bond GMT, those are the only two that talk to me at all, but they do talk loud.

I was in there again today. That white dial BA chrono retails for CDN$6800!!!!

BTW, I tried on a PO again and it's nice (in black) too. He said a guy bought an orange one on the bracelet and ordered the orange leather strap. The jeweller said his cost on the strap/deployment was CDN$525!!!! That's a shite load of money for a strap and deployment!

After the Daytona, the BA is considered one of the finest Chronos out there running the excellent calibre 3303 movement with 33 jewels and 55 hours power reserve.

Watches of Switzerland and Mansor's offer fabulous discounts....much much less than that crazy Canadian price tag.

Come to NZ, Johnny!
