12 Markers do not line up. Am I Crazy?

Hey Guys,

I was talking home the other day staring at my watch, as one does. And I noticed that my double baton hour markers are slightly off, the one on the right is like 1mm lower. Now that I noticed it I can see it all the time. Am I crazy and it's just the light? If it is off do you think AP will fix it?

I know it's hand assembled but I thought the cut to place the indicators in was cut by a machine.

In the picture on top, the one on the right looks lower. Weirdly, when you put the red bars on they appear identically placed. Looking close up, it appears there's something weird about the shape of the marker - almost like it's too fat to sit down in the relief.

Lighting makes it difficult to determine...if your eyeing and something seems off, it probably is, it's not that uncommon... Not that that makes it ok.

Tough to tell with the given pictures but I can tell you it's common place in PP 5711s. Ask me how I know.

I will say all my APs have had perfectly aligned double batons and I appreciate that. I would guess Clearwater may offer a dial swap. PP did so for me but I had a brand new watch from an AD.

I'm basing this solely off Clearwaters reputation for taking care of customers, not personal experience dealing with them

Edit: I'm an idiot. Did not notice you are in HK. I'm sure your local AP service center can be on help but I am not familiar with their respective reputation.

That there is the reason I bought a 15300, No double markers to screw up!!!

Jk... Of coruse.

I do see what your talking about and no your not crazy. Your the one staring at your watch everyday so I would see about a fix. Many would live with it but now you'll notice it every time. if it bugs you, what do you have to lose?

Looks ok to me. If there is a discrepancy, it's less than a millimeter.

The marker towards the 1 o'clock side looks lower to me.
There's a larger gap between that marker and the rehaut.

The 2 marks also look misaligned when I look at the pics upside down, as well as rotated 90 degree to one side or the other.

The watch is rotated a bit in the first pic, which creates an optical illusion that the problem is worse than it is. If there's a problem, it's more like 0.1 of a mm than 1 mm, but I sympathise with the OP anyway, once you've spotted an imperfection it's very hard to unspot it!

They are definitely a bit off but not by 1mm. The sticks are about 1mm wide so there is no way they are off by 1mm, perhaps 0.1 mm or less.

I am actually shocked that you can see this discrepancy with your unaided eyes. Or have you been looking at it with a magnifier loupe?

If I were you, I would leave it alone.

Definitely off. Talk to the AP Boutique or AD where you purchased it. Completely inadmissible.

The first picture looks off but the 2nd picture looks fine - I think it's an illusion; with my 15710 I can see an infinitesimal difference if I look hard enough from various angles.

I agree, i can make my 15400 appear that way too depending on the light and angle I'm looking from... its the same concept if you look at the bezel in the first picture, the light is making the polished portion of the bezel at 11 o'clock look dented, and mine does that too.

Try wearing it on your other wrist to test if its an illusion. You will be looking at it from another angle and the watch will be slightly rotated in the other direction. This may then make the other marker look lower.

It looks to me as if the bar on the right is not sitting in its relief flush.
