So the two watches I have in my collection are a Tudor Sub and 36mm explorer. I find that having two black watches to be a tad redundant. So my question is do I liquidate both towards a Sub C or trade the Tudor Sub for a blue black bay? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Add don't sell unless it's to get rid of something that doesn't work for you.

I would go for the SubC too. Or a SD4Kc for the more balanced and rounded looks! :)

Thanks for all the replies. I was finding that I was forcing myself to wear the explorer and decided to trade them both for Sub C. Not sure if it was a great deal or not as its watch only, but after shopping the two watches around a little selling them for cash and then buying the sub wasn't going to happen. I know I should have saved for a complete set, but who has time for that? Plus it took me forever to find the set that went with my explorer so whats the point? I don't like the watch anymore when I have the papers and box sitting in the closet.

Keeping both and saving for the next is the safe route.
How about being daring and get something exciting ... the new Air King. The Air King is roughly a Milgauss with a different dial, hands and crystal, but basically the same watch. Likewise the Explorer is just a 39mm Oyster Perpetual with again, a different dial and hands. The new Air King doesn't really map to anything in the past even though the name has been reused for this brand new watch. I think it would be an exciting option. The Air King is also interesting in that it immediately has roots in the Bloodhound UK project and so it is associated with motor sports at birth ... not aviation. https://www.google.com/search?q=bloo...QjQtZLIwEmM%3A Last edited by DaveDhc; 12 May 2016 at 08:06 AM.. When I was younger I would always sell the old watches I had to afford the new watch I wanted. Two reasons. First, I had other financial priorities. Second, I found that once I considered selling a watch it meant that deep down I really didn't love it. Then later in life when finances no longer mattered I bought back only the ones that I truly missed.
Oh, and once you get all that attention from a big, shiny Rolex like the Sub you'll never step-down into a Tudor ever again. Audi guys never drive Wolkwagen's, it's just how it is. |

The subc is a great watch. I wear the heck out of mine and find the glidelock indispensable.
Enjoy & don't look back. |

I vote Pepsi if you really want a palette change.
I also found myself with many similar, black watches, including sub, sub ND, black bay black, black bay blue. Word of caution, the black bay blue looks black in many environments. Edit: read he rest of thread. Sorry. Good choice. I also went with a hulk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
