Thinking of a project (modification thread beware!)
I've come across a very nice deal on an 80s (vintage?) 16613 Submariner, the case is in good shape and the tritium markers have patina'd to a nice warm color that matches the yellow gold surrounds perfectly. It also has my favorite "open 6" date wheel. Here's the thing though, I don't do gold, especially yellow gold, except on the dial. So, I think I can get this watch at good enough of a deal that I can afford to swap the bezel, crown and bracelet to make this...
(I call it Blue Steel pics not of actual watch) It's all OEM rolex parts swap so nothing that can't be reversed later on down the line, what do you guys think? I do love the blue sunburst dial, just no the YG. |

If it looks like the pic of the bracelet option then in my book you have got a winner, good luck.

Looks great.
I put a SS bracelet on mine after I wore out the TT original. Most agreed it looked great when I had it. The SS bezel and crown would be a slightly different look but should be great ever way. Keeping the bezel and or crown ties in a bit with the gold text on the dial
