Will new DaytonC Craze cause price drop for BLNR?
Hi Gang,
I am thinking of purchasing the GMT Master ll BLNR and have been, and while I am fine with sticker price, I have to think that with the new DaytonaCs being the hot watch to have for the foreseeable future, will demand and price on the BLNR potentially drop in the not so distant future? I welcome any thoughts. Is it worth waiting to see see if the price could be somewhat negotiable? |

Maybe...
As people maybe saving there money for the daytona C. The BLNR willl be sitting for sale for longer forcing the market to drop prices to unload them.

BLNR has been holding steady for 3 years now. I doubt it will drop unless Rolex releases another SS bi color bezel GMT. I don't think the Daytona will matter.

BLNR is no longer the forum's darling it's very obvious. But, due to supply, it is easier and cheaper to pick up a BLNR than a Daytona-C.
I think in most people's collections, both are keepers. So to the extent that owners can afford both, they will keep and own both. If Rolex tweaks the GMT with a SS BLRO or introduce a Black/Red GMT, then you'll likely see a substantial GMT BLNR exodus. PM always precedes SS....could get very hairy in here if a SS BLRO comes out...similar to the Daytona C craze. I see the watches (GMT and Daytona-C) in different price ranges, the distance between an entry level sports watch (all brands) and a GMT-II is relatively reachable for the entry level buyer. But at $12,500 + , things change, buyers change and for some, liquidation is required to afford the purchase. |

Not sure the Daytona will have anything to do with blnr pricing. Also prices have been fairly steady. I consider 8k to be fair for LNIB and a great deal on NIB. In the USA that is.

Good Feedback. Thanks, all. I'm fine with sticker on the BLNR, but thought it was a question worth asking.

?
Other than both telling time, PCLs and the Rolex brand, these watches have nothing in common. So, no. And compared to the overall market for Rolex watches, TRF is microscopic and not really indicative of trends. |

As others stated. Two different watches. Maybe a small discount, but IMO not likely.

Completely different watch. Will not even remotely impact the price of the GMT.

Everything is negotiable. House prices are now crashing because of the ceramic bezel.

To many Rolex buyers, they just want the newest and hottest model, not only a status symbol but also a conversation piece. It used to be the BLNR. Now it's the Daytona. It happens in the world of fashion jewelry. What's 'in' one year is out the next, replaced by the newest thing everyone wants. |
