Rolex at Schiphol - Just had to...

On my way to London last Friday, I had for once a bit of time to walk through the new shops at the refurbished airport.
Walked into Rolex, and to my surprise the gentleman was pulling out a bunch of watches from their plastic coffins.

"I received my delivery 30 mins ago".

I obviously asked first if he had any SS Daytonas. No dice.

But then I asked him whether he had a GMT BLNR, which is quite possibly the only modern SS Rolex I've been lusting after since my DSSD. I've however never really looked for it more than walking into stores and asking for it.

He comes out 30 seconds later, with a brand new watch. All stickers on. I shuffle around as I had no intentions of buying a watch that day. I try it on and love it. But I'm still undecided, and think about walking away.

My fiancee looks at me. Looks at the watch. And for the first time ever, encourages me to buy a watch.

And to top it all off, I got it at the tax-free price.

I had the same experience this week! The new collection had just arrived in Schiphol Airport. I saw a Sub in the window, called my partner who usually talks me out my crazy impulse spending, but this time she just said: buy the watch.

Presto.
Gefeliciteerd met de BLNR!

I was there too! At the exact same time I was trying on the Explorer I, the black bezel GMT Master and IWC's new Pilot watches. The lady told me they had the BLNR too and that I had to be quick in deciding (luckily I wasn't interested) and then 5 minutes later she said "oh it seems the BLNR is already gone now". That's pretty funny! I guess you were the guy sitting down in the Omega booth, right?

Enjoy your new watch!

Thanks all. Knowing me, I probably would still be thinking about it if I hadn't.

Deuxani: That wasn't me. I was in the Rolex standalone store when you come through via the KLM check-ins. Next to the new Bottega store. I guess a few of us relished on the occasion.

Anthon: my partner is the same, and she is very savvy. Imagine my surprise at her reaction. I seized the occasion, seeing it as a sign.

Dank u veel.

Aaah OK, I was at the Gassan boutique at Terminal 1. So there are two new BLNR owners since Friday at Schiphol Funny coincidence! Maybe the other person will also react to this topic.
